I mean I know it is far fetched and I do not mean the living dead!!! haha
I more so mean a disease of the mind that can be transmitted through bites and yes like in zombie movies, could bring mankind to the brink of existence. Like a super strain of rabies that already does exist?

i guess its possible. what rabies does is make the person (or animal)very aggressive and violent. if it isn't treated properly it can be fatal. so i guess if the world got rabies at the same time, and there were no more shots to give, then i guess it could bring mankind to the brink of existence
